“The freedom to live as you are and not having to conform to conventional gender roles”
Exit Gender is originally amultimedia installation by Jona Lingitz and Ines Handler. It was further developed for the BIX light and media facade of the Kunsthaus Graz. From March to April 2021, the BIX facade featured answers to the question:
“What is inter/trans /non-binary/diverse/female/male/… to you?”
The answers were collected via a social media survey. The content on the BIX facade was updated on a weekly basis. The anonymous answers were not assignable to any gender identity, because the project is intended to contribute to questioning and dissolving rigid gender roles.
